Adamo Estate Winery

Adamo Estate Winery

This is a new winery just east of Orangeville northwest of Toronto, although many of the wines are made with Niagara grapes.  We sort of stumbled upon Adamo and were very pleasantly surprised.

Adamo Estate Winery from the parking lot.

The building is almost brand new with lots of parking (although still on gravel when we visited).  The view is very nice with rolling hills planted in grapevines.  I didn’t notice any outside seating areas, but it was raining when we visited, and I may have overlooked one.

They have a large tasting area and some space for sitting down as well.    The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, depending on who you asked, but it took a little effort to get noticed.  The wine display was very nice, laid out around the tasting bar.  One thing I noticed about the tasting was that we were given a new glass for each wine that we tasted which is unusual (and likely to change as they become established and get busier).  They have a wine glass polishing machine that I’d love to have at home, I wish that I had taken a picture of it!  The pouring for tasting were generous and all of the wine was available for tasting as I recall, although the high-end Gamay was extra.

They have cheese and prosciutto, but we didn’t try the food.

We’ve only been to Adamo a couple of times (we normally head south to Niagara) but we highly recommend that you give Adamo a try!
