Willow Springs Winery is just north of Stouffville, very close to Toronto and practically next door to Gallucci. This is a very pretty winery with the tall willow trees around the spring and is quite busy, especially in the summer, with weddings and other events. They grow Marechal Foch and Baco Noir (the grapes in their Moraine Red wine) in the back and source grapes for their other wines from the Niagara Peninsula. The staff can be overwhelmed at times, especially when there are weddings happening but are friendly and mostly quite knowledgeable, although (as with all wineries) this varies. The wines are generally good to very good but are a little on the pricy side. All of the wines that are not sold out are available for tasting and there are usually crackers and water available to cleanse the palate between tastings. This is probably my favourite “close to Toronto” winery as I enjoy talking to the staff here and never feel rushed or that I’m imposing on them, even when they are busy. Definitely recommended!
